Mr. Norman Charles Jannsen February 25, 1933 - September 16, 2022 Norman Charles Jannsen passed peacefully at home Friday September 16th, 2022, in Cle Elum, WA. Norman was born February 25, 1933, in Seattle, WA. He graduated from Highland High School in Cowiche, Washington. Shortly after HS he joined the Navy where he served on the USS Pollux. He remained connected to his crewmates; they enjoyed many reunions throughout the years. November 1955 Norman married Jean Akehurst. They raised two children and were inseparable for more than 66 years. In 1960 he became a truck driver for Safeway where he cultivated lifelong friendships over a 33-year career and enjoyed more than 29 years of retirement. Norman and Jean valued family and friendship above all else and had an endless capacity for giving. Norman loved hosting annual camping, pig-outs, family adventures, and remained active throughout his life in a variety of clubs and organizations, including Jolly Rogers Motorcycle Club, Puget Sound Appaloosa Club, Washington Snowmobile Association, Safeway Retirees Association, Eagles Club, Kittitas County Search and Rescue, Cascade Field and Stream, Cle Elum Senior Center. Norman was preceded in death early in life by his parents Shirley and Lloyd Jannsen and Grandmother, Elizabeth Smith who raised him. He is survived by his beloved wife Jean Jannsen, daughter Linda (Ted) Anderson, Son Norman (Theresa) Jannsen, Sister Sandra Baker, 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren.

Interment will be held Tuesday October 4th, 2022, 9AM at Tahoma National Cemetery. Reception to follow 2PM at Putnam Centennial Center, aka Cle Elum Senior Center.
