Independence - Donna Joan Errett, of Independence, KY passed away peacefully at Madonna Manor in Villa Hills, KY on Friday, August 3, 2018 at the age of 76. She was born in Hickory, PA on December 1, 1941; the daughter of David and Mildred Errett. Donna excelled in her education, having graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Waynesburg College and a Masters Degree in Library Studies from the University of Pittsburgh. She used her knowledge throughout her career; having worked as a librarian for the Jefferson County Public Library in Madison, IN, head librarian in Hilton Head, SC and past President of the Hilton Head Lions Club. Donna enjoyed going to the symphony, watching and feeding birds and being out in the splendor of nature. Her greatest joy, however, was cooking for her beloved family, especially her grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents. Donna is survived by her loving sons, John (Chasity) Gercken and Jeff Gercken; siblings, David (Molly) Errett, Richard (Karen) Errett, Dianne (Huxley) Jackson and Daniel (Judy) Errett; grandson, Jack Gercken; as well as many other relatives and friends who will mourn her loss and continue to carry on and cherish her memory. A Gathering of Friends for Donna will be held on Monday, August 6, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051.
