Marguerite Heerschap

Marguerite (nee Craig) passed away on Wednesday, December 30th after 108 years of a wonderful life. Marguerite, or Marge, as many knew her, was a long standing member of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she just received her eighty-five year pin. She was also very active at the United Reformed Church of Clifton. Marguerite, was married for sixty years to the love of her life, Leonard A. Heerschap, who pre-deceased her. She was a resident of Clifton for over ninety-five years, during which time she was the secretary to the Clifton City Treasurer for over twenty-five years, retiring in 1963. She was such a loved and respected member of the City government that she received the Key to the City in 2007. She is survived by her daughter, Alice Clearwater of Clifton Park, NY, her sister, Charlotte Eitel of Little Falls, three grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be Sunday, January 3rd from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Allwood Funeral Home, 660 Allwood Road, Clifton. The Eastern Star Service will be at 7:30PM Sunday evening at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Monday, January 4 at 10AM at the United Reformed Church of Clifton, followed by a graveside service.
