Coconut Grove, FL. - Mary Keith Barton nee Moore, died March 10, 2021 at her home in Coconut Grove, FL. She was 94 years young.

Born in Waco, Texas, Mary Keith was the oldest of four children to Harold Vance and Nancy Butler Moore. The family moved to Nebraska during the Great Depression and eventually back to Arlington, Texas where they settled.

After graduating from Texas Women's College in Denton, Texas, Mary Keith moved to Dallas where she worked at Chance Vought Aircraft. It was in Dallas where she would meet and marry Thomas Esley Barton, the love of her life. Four children later, they moved yearly relocating to Houston, New Orleans and back to Houston and eventually to Montclair, New Jersey. Mary Keith and Tom loved Montclair and became devoted members of Central Presbyterian Church. Ten years later, Tom died suddenly at age 54, leaving Mary Keith to raise their youngest child. Mary Keith remained in Montclair for another 10 years and eventually joined her children in Miami, Florida, where she created a new home surrounded by an expanding family. While in Miami she participated in the Coconut Grove Garden Club and was a frequent patron of the Coconut Grove Public Library.

She surrounded herself with elegance and good taste wherever she landed. Mary Keith advised countless friends and relatives in their home projects and her knowledge and appreciation of antiques was passed on to most of her family.

She leaves four children and their respective spouses, Mary Keith West and Steven William Francis West, Charles Vance Barton and Martha Prieto Larmier, Nancy Butler Balzebre and Anthony Francis Balzebre, Thomas Marshall Barton and Jacqueline Marie Barton as well as eight grandchildren and 1 great grand daughter.

Interment will be in Shiner, Texas alongside her husband, Thomas E Barton.

Donations in her name may be left to Central Presbyterian Church in Montclair, NJ and Coconut Grove Garden Club in Coconut Grove, FL.
