Robert Hrubec Obituary
Robert J., born September 3, 1943 in Passaic, NJ and a lifelong resident of Saddle Brook, passed away on March 24, 2012.
Robert was a graduate of Don Bosco Preparatory High School (1961), Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (1965) and obtained his Masters and PhD. of Metallurgical Engineering at Rensselaer in 1971.
He was employed at International Nickel, Curtis Wright, Chromalloy and Alcoa/ Howmet Corp.
Lifelong parishioner and trustee of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Passaic, NJ. Beloved husband of Oksana (nee Petruniak).
Robert is predeceased by his parents Stephen J. Hrubec, former Saddle Brook Chief of Police and Anna (nee Popovich). Loving father of Michael, Robert and Andrew Hrubec. Dear brother of Marion Hrubec, Barbara Byczkowski and her husband Walter and Thomas J. Hrubec and his wife Kristine. brother-in-law of Roman and Christine Petruniak. Uncle of Tanya Schneider and her husband Scott, Stephen, Mark, Thomas and Joseph Hrubec and Roman and Mark Petruniak. Great-uncle of Erica, Charles, Kyle and Karl Schneider.
Funeral Thursday 9 AM at Kugler Community Home. Mass at St. Nicholas Ukranian Catholic Church 10 AM.
Interment St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours Tuesday 7-9 PM and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Parastas Wednesday, 7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Nicholas Ukranian Catholic Church, Passaic, NJ.

Dear Mrs. Hrubec, Mike, Bobby, Andrew and Family, I am truly sorry for your loss. I will always remember Mr. Hrubec as a kind man who never cared when a bunch of us were over when we were kids. I also will never forget about all the hockey games he took me to. He was so generous and was always in good spirits. His time was cut way too short. But, he will live forever in your hearts. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of grief.

Dear Oksana, Marion, Barbara, and Tommy, Patrick and I are sorry to hear about Bobbies passing. He was such a great person to look-up to as a kid. I remember many happy times as a child playing in the garden, running around the cemetery and being chased by the chiwawa's and running to Bobby for protection from them.

Dear Oksana, and sons Michael, Robert and Andrew and Marion. Your husband, father and brother was reaching for the stars as a founding member of the DBHS Class of '61 rocket club.
