William HOPP Obituary
William, 52, of Pompton Plains, passed away on November 14, 2016.
The son of Lawrence and Grace Hopp, Billy was a lifelong resident of Pompton Plains. He worked as a carpenter for Local 608 and was an professional musician, singer and songwriter and member of the bands called The Recollections and The Billy Hopp Band. His music was inspired by the Beatles, Elvis and Chuck Berry. An avid Yankees and Jets fan, Billy also loved fishing and Star Trek. He was known for his sense of humor and zest for life and will be missed by all who knew him.
Billy is survived by his mother, Grace; his brothers, Lawrence and Christopher and his wife Jodi; his nephews, Ryan, Michael and Gabriel; his sister-in-law, Barbie Mohlner; his bandmates, Horst Hopf, Andrew Haris-siadis and Rich Poshkush; and his good friends, Michael J. Donadio, Donald Miguel, Chris Wraback, Chris Lee, Julie Jenkins and Kelly O'Brien. He was pre-deceased by his brother, John "Jack" Hopp. Billy, you're leaving us with an "Empty Heart" full of fond memories. "We Love You Endlessly."
Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Friday, Nov. 18 at M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A funeral service will be held 10 am Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at First Reformed Church Cemetery, Pompton Plains. www.scanlanfuneral.com
