Vincent Cesar Santana

Vincent Cesar Santana, beloved son, brother, husband, father and friend, passed away suddenly at the age of 49 while on vacation with his family in the Dominican Republic. He was born in New York, NY on June 10, 1969. The first born to Neida (Estrella) and Vicente Santana. Vinny is lovingly remembered by his wife of 23 years Helen and his children Nikolas and Aria. Vinny will also be remembered by his brother Mike and sisters Jessica and Jennifer.

He was the son-in-law to Alexis and Altagracia Mejia; brother-in-law to Chester, Francis and George; Uncle to Andrew and Guinevere, Ethan, Ava, Juelz and Jason; Best Friend to Alex Colon; loved colleague to Richard; and part of so many other dear lives: he was our hero.

A graduate of PS 189 Elementary School, St. Elizabeth Middle School, Cardinal Spellman High School, Baruch College (Accounting/Finance degree), Marist College (Master of Business Administration), and Columbia University (Master of Public Health), Vincent was the Administrator and Chief Financial Officer at Columbia University's Department of Neurology.

Vinny will be remembered as the ideal family man, friend, and leader. A vital mentor to so many, he was the kind and wise voice, we relied on. He made us want to work harder. To be kinder. To be more patient with each other. He wanted us all to continue to learn, grow and evolve. He wanted us to be our true and best selves. To value family above all else. These were the keys to his wonderful and full life that we were so fortunate to share in.

A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, August 20, 2018, 2 to 4 PM at Beaugard-McKnight Funeral Home, 869 Kinderkamack Road, River Edge, NJ 07661. A Memorial mass will follow at Saint Peters RC Church 445 5th Ave., River Edge, NJ 07661 at 5 PM.
