Robert D., 87, of Ringwood and Lodi, died on June 27, 2014 in his home surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Harlem, NY to the late Benedetta and Salvatore Bonanno, Bob was raised in Garfield and Lodi. He began his business, Goodyear Motors, in 1948 and LBK Associates, LLC. He is predeceased by his beloved wife M. Elizabeth Bonanno. Bob will be sadly missed by his children and their spouses, Lorrie and Chris Apel, Bob and Nancy Bonanno and Keith Bonanno, all of Ringwood. He also leaves his seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Bob is also survived by his sister Justine (Sally) McCallum of Hollywood, FL and his devoted companion Maryann Janczewska of Clifton. Bob was a proud Veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy. This was a man with many passions, he believed in hard work and reaping the rewards. He loved his life and family, animals, great Italian food, dancing, traveling and entertaining his many friends. He will be missed in Montego Bay, Jamaica, where he enjoyed a second home for the last 36 years. Bob was also passionate about the importance of the Boys and Girls Club in Lodi, where he served on the Board of Directors for many years and was a generous contributor to them as well as to The Humane Society and many children's causes. He was member of the Lodi Chamber of Commerce. He was also a firm believer in the value of Catholic Schools, especially in this day and age. Funeral Tuesday 9:30 AM at Santangelo Funeral Home, 300 N. Main St., Lodi then to St. Joseph R.C. Church, Lodi for a 10:30 AM Funeral Mass. Private cremation to follow. Visitation Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Lodi Boys and Girls Club of Lodi, 460 Passaic Ave., Lodi, NJ 07644 or St. Catherine of Bologna School, 112 Erskine Rd., Ringwood, NJ 07456 would be appreciated.
