We are so sorry, Brenda and family, for Dick's passing, but what a loved and devoted man ... he is certainly in God's hands and God's company. Dick was more of uncle to me and my family, since he was one of the "three amigos" of Dick, my father Ray Farren, and my uncle Clarence Engkraf. These three guys, let me tell ya, they were the most kind, most honest, most loving men that ever could be! They were childhood buddies, riding their bikes, going to school and fishing in the afternoons, hanging together as three "Fonzies" with hearts of gold. Okay, maybe Dick, Ray and Clarence were a bit of gang, but the worst tricks they ever did were to grease the tracks and hide while the streetcar couldn't make it up them! (only once!) They were truly good men, together they graduated 6 months early from high school and signed up for the military ... Dick and Ray to the Navy and Clarence to the Airforce. They never lost touch with each other throughout their lives. Brenda, you are the shining sunshine that made Dick's life glow ... pure happiness you were to him, a great love. To you we send our understanding and sorrow, to his beautiful daughters and his loving stepchildren we send our heartfelt prayers. The first thoughts we had, were that Dick and Ray and Clarence are fishing together in heaven. I think that's the neighborhood God will keep them in. We are so glad Dick was part of our circle of life, may God Bless you and comfort you.

May the God of all comfort strengthen the family during this time of deep sorrow. Those who pass on, God keeps in his memory because they are precious in his eyes. My sincerest condolences. (Psalms 116:15)

So sorry to see this. We were previous neighbors of
Dick and his wife on Wanamaker Ave. I also knew him at Western Union.
