Arthur Falvey Obituary

Arthur Jeremiah Falvey Sr. 1940 - 2021
North Franklin - Arthur Jeremiah Falvey Sr., of Franklin CT and Norwich CT, passed away March 15, 2021 in Florida.
Arthur was born December 2, 1940, the son of the late Daniel and Mary (Navin) Falvey. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Arthur J. Falvey Jr, his sister, Helen Guinan, his brothers, Daniel Falvey Jr. and John Falvey.
He was married to and is survived by his one true love, Frances, for one month shy of 55 years. He is survived by his son, Brian F. Falvey. He is also survived by his sister Anne McGill.
Above all things, Arthur loved and was devoted to his family. He was actively involved in both of his son's lives, raising them with love and a gentle kindness. He enjoyed coaching their sports teams when they were young and creatively coming up with all sorts of fun games to play. Arthur liked playing golf, watching the UCONN Lady Huskies basketball team, following the Boston Red Sox (but only when they were winning), quick dips in the pool, drawing and coloring, and doing crossword puzzles.
He worked in advertising for the Willimantic Chronicle and Norwich Bulletin for many years before going on to own and operate his own business, AJF Advertising.
Arthur had an outgoing and friendly personality. His smile, sense of humor, pleasant demeanor, and easy-going nature made him universally loved by all.
Funeral services and burial will be private for the family. In the coming months, when Covid is less of a concern, there will be a publicly announced celebration of life to honor Arthur and all are invited to attend.

I am so sorry for the loss of Art Falvey to all who loved him. I worked with Art for many years, and he was one of the good guys! Profoundly real, honest, intelligent, caring and just a perfect amount of rascal! I will never forget him putting tough times into perspective with a glint in his eye. Somehow he always could see so clearly and honestly through everything, and assure everyone that We were all ok., no matter what was cooking in the corporate world. I am blessed to have had him as a friend and influence. Rest well, and know that you were loved and admired.
With love,
Cyndi Moran

Art made me laugh. A lot. I worked with Art at the Norwich Bulletin and have fond memories. Amazingly he was successful at his job amidst all of the shenanigans. Condolences to his family.
