Susan Schillaci Obituary
Wilmington, NC: Formerly of Penfield. Sue died suddenly on October 20, 2014 at age 55 after a brief illness. She is predeceased by her husband, Paul A. Schillaci; parents, Alex and Peggy Cannioto; mother-in-law, Marilyn Schillaci. Sue will forever be missed and loved by her 3 sons, Steven, Mark (Oindree) and Daniel Schillaci; father-in-law, Ross A. Schillaci; brother-in-law, Peter A. Schillaci (Cheryl Hopkins); sister-in-law, Teri-An (David) Consaul; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Sue was a teacher at School of the Arts for over 25 years. She worked at Dixon Elementary School in North Carolina for the last 4 years. Sue received her Bachelor's Degree from Columbia University and her Master's from Nazareth College.
Friends may call at Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Road, Sunday Noon - 3 PM. Sue's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday 10 AM at St. Joseph's Church, 43 Gebhardt Road, Penfield. Interment, Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider donations to a charity of your choice in Sue's memory.

I still can't believe that she is gone. It seems like just yesterday we were in the ballet studio and time stood. Still at all of our soda memories. There will be none like Susan Schillaci Always one of a kind. Always such a gentle spirit. I am completely in honor of her love teachings and guidance. Such a wonderful inspiration and gentle spirit to so many. I am so grateful to have made contact with her and shared space with her in this realm. In this dispensation of time, you will always be remembered and never forgotten. One love for all eternity.

Sue was one of the greatest colleagues I ever met while teaching at SOTA. She was always kind, polite and understanding of our needs and concerns. I am so sorry to see she went to heaven at such an early age. My prayers and thoughts will be with her family and I know we have another angel in heaven to guide us along. God Bless you forever Susan.

Through shock, tears and bottomless sadness I send my sincere sympathy to Sue' s treasures: her 3 boys. She sure was a tiny person but certainly big in her love and pride in her sons. She handled herself with such grace and strength after Paul's passing, I marveled at her fortitude and resolve to be a ready ear and to provide the soundest advice she could muster to impart to those young men. She took her role as protector very seriously. I will miss our book chats, funny texts, our love of our little dog antics and the example she set for me on bravery, kindness and friendship. For the short while we walked this road of life together I am profoundly grateful. I wish I could have been more for her and done more. Stephen, Danny, Mark and Lola. She just adored you. I know you will continue to make her so very proud. . Wishing you peace as you carry the exceptional love your parents had into your own futures. We will always be rooting for you.

To the family: My prayers and condolences of comfort go out to all. Our family is so sad for your lost and mourning of the passing of Mrs. Schillaci. She will be greatly missed by so many but for some reason heaven needed her more and now she'll watch over us all even closer. She was my first ballet teacher and what an impact she made on the discipline and fortitude in the arts but also in life. She has helped to create so many wonderful memories in the life's of so many and I will forever be grateful. What a very determined and strong personality she was. I am so blessed to call Susan my sister-in-law and grateful for all the fond memories and years we had together...You were taken far too early and will remain in my heart forever!
