Phyllis Heinz Obituary

SLEEPY HOLLOW – Phyllis J. "Fofo" (Peterson) Heinz, 75, of Sleepy Hollow, passed away Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, surrounded by her family at St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin.
She was born Jan. 6, 1936, in Elgin, to Peter and Bertha (Haacker) Peterson. She was raised in Huntley and moved to Dundee, where she lived for many years before retiring to Kent, Wash. She returned to Illinois four years ago to be closer to family.
She was a devoted homemaker and tailor, and she enjoyed quilting.
She is survived by her children, Don Jr. of Kent, Wash., Deanna (Gary) Jarvis of Loves Park, Daryl (Carol) of Golden, Colo., Denise (Michael) Korosec of Dundee, Dan (Cheri) of Algonquin and Dawn (Mike) Snelgrove of Marengo; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 55 years, Don M. Heinz Sr.; and her brother, Wayne Peterson.
Services will be at 11 a.m Saturday, Jan. 22, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 401 W. Main St., West Dundee. The Rev. Steve Woita will officiate. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 E. 33rd St., New York, NY 10016; or at www.kidney.org.
