JOHN PACKARD Obituary

PACKARD--John William, of Englewood, NJ, grandson of The Curb Exchange Founder and The Bergen Record Newspaper Founder John Borg, passed on Saturday, December 22. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lynn Lamont Meredith Packard and daughter, Lynda M. Packard. Mr. Packard was a graduate of Deerfield Academy and Yale University. He founded the Yale Aviation Society and organized the first inter-collegiate air meet competition in the US in 1952. He served his country in the United States Coast Guard as a Lt. Commander. He was a movie and Broadway show producer, former owner of Saturday Evening Review and contributing writer, a Real Estate developer as well as a wine expert running Packard's Fine Wine and Spirits shops throughout New Jersey and the famed, VENDOME Liquor Inc., in Manhattan. A service will be held at the Marble Collegiate Church, New York City on January 4th at 2pm.

My deepest sympathies to Lynn and Lynda.
John was a wonderful man and has left many legacies.
The Creation stained glass window will for years to come be a visual symbol to bring peace and hope for all who come to Marble Collegiate Church.
The Advent music sponsored by you and now your loving daughter has been a blessing of the season.
May your soul rest and the memories of your wonderful smile, personality and faith be a comfort to your family and friends.

Also, I want to acknowledge the years of joy experienced at Christmastime through the special music provided before each worship service during Advent. 3 generations of my family have enjoyed that gift.
