John Crowley Obituary

CROWLEY-John S. A former Senior Partner/Director at McKinsey & Co. in New York and Greenwich, CT resident, died of complications from pneumonia and Parkinson's disease on Wednesday, March 31, 2004. He was 80. Known as ``Jack'' to his friends, Mr. Crowley served as Chairman of the American Foundation for the Blind and Helen Keller International (HKI), where he pioneered international distribution of vitamin A in Indonesia to prevent nutritional blindness in millions of people. In addition, he was Chairman of the Board of the New York PBS station WNET/Channel 13 and a member of The Links in New York City. Mr. Crowley's survivors include his wife, Carol Kilby Crowley, their four children, five grandchildren, his younger brother, Harry B. Crowley, Jr., and younger sister, Dorothy Crowley Howe both of Rochester, NY. A wake will be held on Monday, April 12, 7PM9PM, at Gallagher Funeral Home, 37 Arch Street, Greenwich, CT. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 10AM, at St. Michael's Church, 469 North St., Greenwich, CT. Donations may be made in Mr. Crowley's memory to: Helen Keller Intl., 352 Park Ave. South, Suite 1200, New York, New York 10010.
