Time is a devious embezzler. You look up and what seems like a month or two has bloomed into 30 years. It's been more than that since we worked together on Jimmy Dean. Such happy times. Tough Work. Lots of laughter, lots of tears and a whole lot of love. And then dragging to Ted Hook's--exhausted. We were blessed. You were always so beautiful, my Edna. I admired you--though I never said. Wish I did. I think of those times in NY a lot now as the days dwindle down to a precious few. How our lives went in a myriad of directions. I think of shy quiet Kathy (now a Big Movie Star with an Oscar! Who'da thunk it?) and I think of Cher, always questions--so eager to learn. I think often of brilliant Bob, sassy Sudie, composed Karen, rascally Ruth, and dear sweet Sandy-- all now gone. In the end our rehearsals laster longer than the Broadway run. Nevertheless, those memories burn bright a lifetime later. I am saddened that the years passed and we did not reconnect. I guess it's human nature when a project ends to move on and not look back. But when I do look back, it is your winsome smile I see. Rest in peace, dear Marta.
