HENRY BRAMWELL

BRAMWELL--Henry. The Brooklyn Law School Community mourns the loss of Judge Henry Bramwell, Class of 1948. Judge Bramwell was a Senior Judge of the United States Court for the Eastern District of New York, as well as a distinguished graduate and Trustee Emeritus of the Law School. President Gerald Ford nominated him to his seat in 1974. He was the first African-American judge appointed to serve in the Eastern District. Judge Bramwell gave generously of his time to the Law School, serving as a member of its Board of Trustees for 23 years. We are deeply saddened at the passing of both a dear friend of the Law School and an accomplished jurist. Judge Bramwell's intelligence, wisdom and judgment will be missed, but his legacy will be long enduring. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to his wife, Ishbel, and his family.
