Dear Ellen:
I will miss Rex's friendship very much, and share your sadness at his passing. But I also thank you, Ellen, for the happiness that you brought into Rex's life, and I hope that, soon, we will have only joyful memories to replace the grief.

Dear Ellen,
Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss. I will always remember the conversations that Rex and I had from time to time and how he would make me laugh even when the office was so hectic. I know he suffered with great physical pain which most people were not aware of. He had a great sense of humor and love of life.
Rex you will truly be missed.
