Diane Shalet Strong and I have been friends for forty years. It is so hard to let her go. Working with her, probing acting techniques and values, teaching together, seeing shows, sharing laughs, traveling,... everything was more fun with her. And all the talk...even across the ocean on the phone was rewarding. Her strength of spirit, talent, wit and generosity are beacons to follow. Good-bye, my darling friend.

Diane was a fine writer, an active member of the West Coast Writers Group I moderate, and a witty friend whom I last saw in New York. Her Actors & Writers Lab was brilliantly conceived with the realization that actors and writers have much to contribute to each other. RIP, Diane.

Diane and I were members of the same writers' group in Los Angeles. She loved the theater and acting, and the teaching of acting. She was also a wonderful writer and unfailingly generous in her support of other artists’ endeavors. I will always cherish her friendship, and I will miss her greatly.

Diane will be remembered here in Palm Springs by Ann and I as a brave and dear friend, whose razor wit and charm never faltered. We have known Diane for years, but living next door to Diane for the final six months of her life really cemented our friendship. The quality of her many friendships around the world told us so much about her and we all grieve together.
