GILLESPIE-- Eileen D.,

(nee Dealy), passed away peacefully at her home on December 2, 2015, surrounded by her loving husband and family. Eileen is survived by her husband of 60 years, George J. Gillespie, III, who is a Retired Partner and Special Counsel to the law firm of Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, along with her four children and spouses: Gail G. Garcia (Michael) of Bluffton, SC, John D. Gillespie (Andrea Borden) of Guilford, CT, Myles D. Gillespie (Kimberly Idler) of Rye, NY and Eileen G. Fahey (Timothy) of Scarborough, ME. She is also survived by her ten loving grandchildren: Lindsay D. Garcia, William W. Garcia, Henry G. Garcia, Bradford Casey Gillespie, Lucas T. Gillespie, Chloe S. Gillespie, Myles D. Gillespie, Jr., John T. Gillespie, Caroline M. Gillespie and George T. Fahey, and by her sister, Margaret D. Ackerman (Robert) of Boston, MA and her brother, James J. Dealy (Angela) of Cincinnati, OH. She is predeceased by her sister, Marcia T. Dealy of New Brunswick, NJ and her brother, John T. Dealy (Constance) of Portsmouth, RI. Eileen was born on October 12, 1931, and grew up in Riverdale and Carmel, NY. She was a long time resident of Harrison, NY and enjoyed spending her summers along with her husband, children and grandchildren in Prouts Neck, ME. She was a graduate of the Convent of the Sacred Heart, Greenwich, CT and Newton College, Newton, MA. She was a founder and owner of The Painted Finish, Ltd., Greenwich, CT, an interior design firm. Eileen was honored with the naming of the science building at the Convent of the Sacred Heart, Greenwich, CT where she served on the Board of Trustees for many years. She also served on the Advisory Board for St. Vincent's Hospital, Westchester and St. Joseph's School for the Deaf, Bronx, NY. Eileen will be remembered for many things; her love of art and antiques, sense of style, and impeccable taste. Most importantly her family and friends will remember her for her poise and grace, her generous spirit and her deep and abiding faith. Family will receive visitors on Friday, December 4, 4-8pm, at the Graham Funeral Home, 1036 Boston Post Road, Rye, New York 10580, (914)967-0129. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 5, at 10am at The Church of the Resurrection, 910 Boston Post Rd., Rye, NY 10580.
