Word was received of the passing of Mr. David Gillespie, 70, of Lawton, Oklahoma on Wednesday, January 28th, 2026.

David was born on February 23rd, 1955 in Pontotoc, Mississippi to the late Glenn and Jo Ellen (Roberts) Gillespie. David grew up mostly in West Point, Mississippi after graduating High School, he worked for several different farms, working primarily with livestock and even worked at the Sheriff's department as an investigator. He met and married his wife Marsha in 1990, and later moving to North Carolina to run a beef cattle farm for over 10 years, which later turned into a private golf course community, where he worked for over 20 years as director of operations. In 2021, David and Marsha moved to Lawton, OK to be closer to family and grandchildren. He enjoyed the rodeo and team roping, liked tinkering with things, cooking breakfast, especially biscuits and chocolate gravy for his family, and spending time with them.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marsha Gillespie; a daughter, Summer and Jeff Hall; a sister, Mary and Murray Mize; two grandchildren, Katlyn and Brady Gahagan, and Logan and Kenzie Danovsky; one great grandchild, Clay Cole; a niece, Jennifer Shirley; two great nephews, Nathan and Matthew Shirley; along with many cousins, and other loving family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Tony Gillespie.
