BETTY GAYLIN Obituary
married for 71 years to her childhood sweetheart, Will Gaylin, and a Hastings-on-Hudson resident since 1956, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 18th. She was 93. She is survived by her husband, daughters, Jody Gaylin Heyward and Ellen Gaylin Smith (Clinton), grandchildren, David (Jocelyn), Emily (Jessica) and Sarah Heyward, Laura Alvarez (Joel) and Charles Smith (Elizabeth) along with two great- grandchildren, Nikko Heyward and Sierra Alvarez. Services will be private but the family would welcome donations in her name to either Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic, 4 Skyline Drive, Hawthorne, NY 10532 or Wildlife Conservation Network, 209 Mississippi St., San Francisco, CA 94107.

It's been a long time since Ivan and I spent time in Aspen. I remember watching Betty string together a necklace which she then gave to me. I still treasure it. I also remember being in your home when the dogwood were in bloom and it was the first time I had peeled asparagus. I've been doing it ever since! What a hostess! Please accept my sincere condolences, Will. She was an extraordinary woman and will be missed.
