GLORIA STAMLER Obituary

BECKERMAN STAMLER-- Gloria Brim, January 1924 - April 2021, died above the banks of the Hudson River on Wednesday, surrounded by her family and holding the hand of her husband, Jerry. She is predeceased by her parents, Dr. Charles and Bessie Brim, her two sisters, Miriam and Anita, and her husband Bernard, whom she married in 1940. After studying at Yale School of Drama, she joined the faculty of Adelphi University where she was a beloved teacher and colleague. Her various houses over the years became second homes to hundreds, and she welcomed anyone and everyone in for a cup of coffee and good conversation. In 1998, she reconnected with her childhood sweetheart, Dr. Jeremiah Stamler, and began a new chapter traveling around the globe. They married in 2004, and shared many happy years together. A published poet, she will be remembered for her sharp wit, her wonderfully bad puns, her brilliant smile and hearty laughter. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jonathan and Barbara, and Michael and Karen, her grandchildren Daniel, Charles, Joshua, Bernard and Anna, and her great-grand- children, Ari and Seth. We will celebrate Gloria on Sunday April 25 in New York; friends may attend virtually at: http://tinyurl.com/ourglo In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Girls Write Now.

I adored Gloria and our profound bond which kept us close always. She was a heroic and loving model of excellence, humor, wisdom and love.
Blessings to all her family, children, grandchildren, nieces and grandnephews. If I have left someone out, it is an omission based on feeling.
Ever much love to be continued
