Mildred Halapy Obituary
She was born February 26, 1928, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Bernard and Barbara Baldinger Rausch.
Mrs. Halapy was a homemaker and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Finleyville.
Surviving are two sons, John Halapy Jr. and wife Mary Lynn of Glenshaw and George Halapy and wife Linda of Fairmont, W.Va.; four daughters, Becky Halapy (Fred Scanlan) of Lilly, Terry Bell and husband John of Washington, Rita Julian and husband John of Clairton and Trish Zrimsek and husband Will of Finleyville; a sister, Florence Watkins of Westview; two sisters-in-law, Lillian Rausch of Troy Hill and Rita Keyser of Bethel Park; a brother-in-law, Robert Hardinger of South Park; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are her husband, John Halapy, who died in January 1996; two brothers, Paul and Robert Rausch; and a sister, Mary Hardinger.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Kegel Funeral Home Inc., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, David P. Kegel, director, 3560 Washington Avenue, Finleyville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon Saturday, May 30, in St. Francis Church, Finleyville, with the Rev. Robert J. Boyle, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Finleyville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pathways of Southwestern Pennsylvania, 190 North Main Street, Washington, PA 15301.
