Elbert Suttles Obituary
Elbert was born to the union of Ivy Walters and Elbert Louis Suttles, Sr., on September 29, 1964. Elbert graduated from Buchtel High School in 1983, and went on to attend Clark-Atlanta University. Over the years, Elbert developed a talent for training dogs, after earning his certification as a dog trainer. Elbert loved sports, and he excelled in boxing, where as a teenager, he was the 1980 Ohio Silver Gloves Champion.
Elbert was preceded in death by his father, Elbert Louis Suttles, Sr.; sister, Monique Suttles; grandmother, Bessie Walters; grandparents, Rose (Suttles) Hopkins and James D. Suttles; mother-in-law, Deloris Arter; and uncle, E. C. Walters.
Elbert leaves an empty space in the hearts of Brenda, his loving wife and companion of 23 years; daughter, Sierria Suttles; sons, Elbert Suttles, III, and Nathan Smith of Akron, Ohio, twin son and daughter, Loren and Carmen Greer of Atlanta, Ga.; mother, Ivy Suttles-Baity; brothers, LeMorris (Regan) of Akron, Ohio, Kron and Troilus, of Lansing, Mich.; three grandchildren; grandparents, Danny and Gwendolyn Walters of Fairlawn, Ohio and Mildred Suttles of Los Angeles, Calif.; father-in-law, John Arter; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Homegoing service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at 12 Noon at St. John C.M.E. Church, 1233 S. Hawkins Ave., Akron, OH 44320, Pastor Richard McDuffie officiating. Interment at Mt. Peace Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church from 11 a.m. until time of service. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 1089 Hardesty Blvd., Akron, OH 44320.
