Mary Sitko Obituary
Mary (Babich) Sitko, 87, born February 23, 1919, went home to be with the Lord after a lengthy illness, Dec. 14, 2006.
Mary was born in Akron and lived in the area all of her life. She retired from Summit County Children's Home as an accounts payable clerk and was a member of Akron First Assembly of God. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife and loving mother who loved her family and grandsons very much. She loved to cook and made delicious apple strudel.
Preceded in death by her brothers, Peter and Robert Babich; sisters, Madge Reynolds, Rose Gazdik and Violet Jarvis, Mary is survived by her husband of 53 years, Daniel; daughters, Sharon (Jay) Lawrence and Dawn (Steve) Stephanoff; grandsons, Joshua (Shelly) Stephanoff, Jonathan Stephanoff, David and Kevin Lawrence; brother, Nick (Mildred) Babich; sister, Julia Myers; and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Anna's Home Health Care, and Lorantffy Care Center.
Funeral service Monday, 11:30 a.m., at the Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron, with Rev. Kent Jarvis officiating. Burial at Hillside Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday, from 3 to 5 p.m. (Hopkins Lawver, Akron, 330-733-6271)
