John Eberl Obituary

RIXFORD, Pa. - On Feb. 9, 2016, John Joseph Eberl entered eternity after suffering a heart attack at the family residence in Annapolis, Md.

He was born March 19, 1948, at Olean General Hospital, to Philip G. and Rita Hammer Eberl.

He graduated in 1966 from Otto-Eldred High School and earned his B.S. degree from Cheyney University in 1970. While teaching and coaching at Methacton High School, he did his graduate program at Temple University.

In 1972, he established his company in Malvern, Pa., known as "Eberl Builders," which he ran until his retirement. For the past two years he served as a consultant for the Catalina Pool Family Co. in Maryland.

John is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Carol (Scenna) Eberl; his four cherished children, John F. (Jacquelyn) Eberl, Peter M. (Joan) Eberl, Cayt E. (Eric) Kirkman and Jessica A. (Philip) Eberl; his five precious grandchildren, Grace, Alexa, Olivia, Kenzie Eberl and EJ Kirkman; his siblings, Philip J. Eberl and Rita Ann (William) Welsh, both of Rixford, and Mark A. (Linda) Eberl of Warren.

His sister Kitty predeceased him in 1974.

John enjoyed golfing and competing in tournaments over the past 40 years. The family spent quiet summers at their home in the Pocono Mountains while fishing the trout streams and taking nature walks.

A funeral Mass was held at St. Patrick Church in Malvern on Feb. 19 with private interment following Mass. A memorial Mass in celebration of John's birthday will be offered by Fr. Tom Brown at 11 a.m. Saturday (March 19, 2016) at St. Raphael Church in Eldred. A lunch will be served after the Mass at the Coleman Center for family and friends.

Donations may be made, if desired, to Mt. Irenaeus Retreat, P.O. Box 100, West Clarksville, NY 14786.

Local arrangements are under the direction of the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred. Condolences may be made online at www.framefuneralhome.com.
