Gaynor Bracewell Obituary
A native of Laurens County, he was the son of the late Ira Lee Bracewell and Lola Belle Morton Bracewell. He was an engineer/ builder and lived for several years in Florida where he built many homes. He moved to High Shoals purchasing land on the Appalacee River and built an electrical generating plant. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm today in the High Shoals United Methodist Church. Dr. Douglas Bower will officiate. Interment services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday in Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery near Dublin, GA.
He is survived by a daughter: Victoria Bracewell of Bishop; a son: Gaynor Bracewell, Jr. of High Shoals; a sister: Mary Altys Harper of Mt. Dora, FL; 4 grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2:00 pm today at the church.
Arthur Bowick, Inc., Funeral Directors, Monroe, are in charge of arrangements.

Vicky, Jerry and I extend our deepest sympathy to you and your family. Gaynor has always been a special person to us. When I was growing up he always took a special interest in Sandy (my sister) and me...taking us on our first airplane flight, teaching us to water ski, taking us to special reataurants. In general, he taught us so much about life and the experiences that can be found by traveling. May God in His goodness shower you and yours with special blessings during this difficult time. I am so sorry to learn of Gaynor's passing. He was always helpful and kind and a good friend to me and my late husband, Jackie, who passed away 12-6-03. My sympathy and prayers are with you.
