RICHARD BLOSSER Obituary

Blosser, Richard (Dick), passed away September 25, 2013 at the age of 85. He served with both the US Army and Marines, after which he lived in Fullerton for 59 years. After his retirement as an electrical engineer at Rockwell International where he worked for over 30 years, he spent his time teaching in local colleges, working as a volunteer policeman, flying for the Sheriff's Orange County Aerosquadron, and working with the Orange County Bomb Squad. As a pilot, his passion for aviation ranged from flying observation flights along with search & rescue and prisoner transport to assembling and flying his own WW II aircraft. His special talents were exercised in his interests including ham radio operations, Model A Ford autos, and especially fixing anything for his family and friends. He is perhaps best remembered for his work on the Voyager Round-The-World Flight as radio communications specialist. In his own quiet but interested and giving way, he touched many lives. He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth, of 31 years; his children, David Blosser, Pamela Foster, and James Blosser; his stepchildren, Judy Sofer, Laurie Spence, and David Markowitz; his grandchildren: Shannon Nigro, Oren Kaplan, Dean Sofer, Leeav Sofer, Herron Spence, Daniel Spence; and 2 great-grandchildren. We love him as a devoted husband, loving father and wonderful grandfather and great-grandfather.

Memorial service is planned for Mon Nov. 4th at 11:00 AM at Temple Beth Tikvah, 1600 N. Acacia, Fullerton. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to your favorite charity.
