PATRICIA LOUISE JARVIS

1927 - 2012

Patricia Louise Jarvis passed away peacefully in Beaverton, Oregon on January 31, 2012. Pat was born August 18, 1927 in Everett, WA, the only child of Allen W. and H. Louise Goodspeed.

She grew up in Mount Vernon until her junior year at Mount Vernon High School, when her family was transferred to Marshfield, OR (now Coos Bay). She graduated from Marshfield High School in 1945.

She married William Dale Jarvis in December 1946. They settled in Vanport, OR, where Bill attended college and Pat worked for Moss Stores in Portland.

They later moved to Forest Grove where he finished his education at Pacific University and Pat worked for West Coast Telephone Company. After graduation they moved back to Coos Bay, where she continued working for the telephone company and Bill started his career in newspaper advertising for The World.

After the birth of their daughter Nancy in 1956, Pat left her job to be a stay at home Mom and son David was born in 1959. Bill and Pat were divorced in 1969 and she went to work for Georgia-Pacific in Coos Bay until the plant closed in the mid 80's. She then moved to Springfield to work for the University of Oregon before moving to Beaverton to work for Portland State University.

After retiring in 1998, Pat continued her involvement organizing the Marshfield High School reunions for the class of 1945. She was also an avid sports fan and loved to watch the Trailblazers, Seahawks and Mariners.

Pat is survived by her daughter Nancy Jarvis DeMuth, Beaverton, OR, son David Jarvis and his wife Deborah, Washougal, WA, grandson Ryan DeMuth, Tigard, OR and great-grandson Nathan Aldrich, Vancouver WA. She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson James Richard Aldrich.

At Pat's request, there will be no memorial service. In lieu of remembrances, the family suggests a donation to the charity of the givers choice.
