HOUSTON BERRY Obituary

BERRY, HOUSTON BURNELL, age 88, died in Apopka, FL on Sunday, October 10, 2010, following complications with pneumonia and congested heart failure. He was born March 29, 1922, in the county of Jefferson Davis, MS, to the late Henry and Minnie Burkett Berry. Mr. Berry enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps on April 12, 1941. In October 1945, after WWII, He was discharged from active duty but, remained in the Army Air Corps reserves. In early 1947, the Army Air Corps became the U.S. Air Force, in which he re-enlisted. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as Master Sergeant on October 1, 1962. He is survived by his daughters, Brenda (Gene) Rucker, Cheryl (Mack) Pleicones; two stepsons, Wesley (Pat) Finlay and David
Finlay; seven grandchildren, and their spouses; 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; three brothers, Carl, Hank, and Burkett Berry. He is also survived by several nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charleyn; a daughter,
Gerry Walters; two brothers,
Gaydon and Welton. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at
Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, (Apopka Chapel) 601 North Park Avenue, Apopka, FL 32712
(407-886-1461) on October 15, 2010 at 12 p.m., with a greeting of Family and Friends from 11 to 12 p.m. The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Florida Heart Group (1613 North Mills Avenue, Orlando, Fl 32803).
