McCall, Kenneth , Jr. of Orlando, Florida passed away March 20, 2017 peacefully in his sleep. Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church in Downtown Orlando, Friday March 24 at 11am. Ken was born in Orlando, August 23, 1926 and graduated from Orlando High School. He continued on to the University of Georgia on a football scholarship. He was a Business Major. College was interrupted for two years while he served his country in the Army in the Philippines during WWII. Ken was married to Virginia Clark, his High School Sweetheart on June 18, 1948. They were married 68 years. After football at Georgia, Ken began working for his father at their cattle ranch in Titusville. After two years, his father passed away and Ken then took over running the citrus and real estate operations of the family business. Ken loved his family, his church, golf, University of Georgia football and people. Ken loved LIFE. Ken is survived by his wife Virginia L. Clark, son Gary McCall (Regina), daughter Jan McPherson (Rex), grandchildren Melissa Lovett (Bill), Matt McCall (Hollie), Trey McPherson (Anna), Ginny Botts (Wade), great grandchildren Mac McCall, Carsyn McCall, Witt Lovett, Davis Lovett, and Andrew McPherson and brother Hollis McCall (Beverly). Ken was preceded in death by his father Kenneth E. McCall and Mother Emma Webb McCall. Ken was a Founder of the Orlando Touchdown Club, The Orlando Amateur Athletic and The Orlando Track Club. He is in the University of Georgia Hall of Fame and the Central Florida Sports Hall of Fame. Ken was a great golfer and was a member of The Country Club or Orlando and Wildcat Cliffs Country Club in Highlands, North Carolina. Ken began shooting his age at 67. He shot his age or better hundreds of time until he was 86 years of age. He was the past chairman of the North Orlando Sun Trust Board, Member of the Central Florida Old Timers Club and for years an usher at the First United Methodist Church at 8:30 service. Some of his biggest honors came in his later years. He was presented the prestigious Johnny Rauch Football award at the University of Georgia. Lastly, he was honored to receive a National Award by his Sigma Chi Fraternity, The Significant Sig Award. A life well lived. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to First United Methodist Church, Ken McCall Memorial Fund.
