John (Tony) Anthony McCall, 85, passed away peacefully with family by his side on March 16, 2026 in
Naples, Florida. Born in New York City to John A. McCall and Helen McCall (née Sullivan), Tony was an alumnus of Fairfield University and the New York University Graduate School of Business Administration. While at Fairfield, he met Mary Burke, the love of his life. They were married on July 11, 1964 and shared 51 happy years together.
He was a loving father to three daughters and three sons: Kathleen McCall-Ortega (Christopher), Stacey Towfighi (Ali), Jennifer McCall, John McCall (Julie), Christopher McCall (Rachel), and Matthew McCall (Mindy). He was a proud and "rotten" Grandpa Tony to 17 grandchildren: Caitlin (Josh), Meghan, Gray, Erin, Michaela, John, Spencer, Mary (Daniel), John, Molly, Carly, Maggie, Madison, Taylor, Alexa, Matthew, and Emily, and Great Grandpa to Olivia. Tony was preceded in death by his wife, Mary McCall (née Burke), and sister, Isabel Miller (née McCall), and is survived by brother Gilbert McCall.
After a successful career in investment banking, Tony retired with Mary to Naples where he spent his days golfing, playing tennis and bridge, and enjoying fishing trips with his grandchildren. Before settling permanently in Naples, he and Mary spent many years as snowbirds, summering on Long Beach Island, NJ. There, you could find Tony stretched out on the beach with a James Patterson novel or volunteering his time at the local hospital and with Reclam the Bay, supporting the local ecosystem.
Known for living life on his own terms, Tony will be remembered for his hearty laugh, sense of humor, and competitive spirit. His love for the ocean, conversation, and an active life lives on through his children and grandchildren.
Tony's funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 31st, at St. Philip Neri Church, 3025 Grand Concourse,
Bronx, NY. Interment private.
