I was lucky enough to have attended UCF when this man was still teaching Florida history there. As a budding history teacher to be myself, Mr. Shofner always had time for me and never lacked for a colorful historical story.
Without a doubt, Jerrell H. Shofner was my favorite professor in all my college years.
I will always remember his grace, intellect, kindness, mastery of the subject matter and that classic southern gentleman drawl when he spoke.

My condolences to his family and friends. I feel your loss as well.
