Kerry Michael Murphy, 68, of Coventry died peacefully Friday, March 6th 2026. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Gaiter of Leeds, AL. He is also survived by his four grandchildren; Brayen, Bryson, Brielle, and Brenna Gaiter of Leeds, AL. Kerry also leaves behind his sisters; Sherrill Murphy-Fromm of Marlborough, Patrice Crocker and her husband Edward of Coventry, and Kristina Murphy of Winsted. Additionally, he leaves behind his brother Craig Murphy and his wife Marge of West Hartford. Kerry was also a loving and wonderful uncle and leaves behind many adoring nieces and nephews, Vance, Andy, Cait, Bria, Patrick, Alison, Colleen, Shannon, and Ava. He was predeceased by parents Mary O’Flaherty Murphy and Thomas Murphy. Kerry went to the University of Central Florida and earned a degree in engineering. He worked for NASA and Rockwell International for years. Kerry was proud to have worked as an electrical engineer on several of the space shuttles. He was also an engineer for the Coca Cola Company in FL for many years. His hobbies included scuba diving and working on his Ford truck. Kerry was genuinely a real life Bob the Builder and quite the handy man; he could fix anything around the house. He loved visiting with his family and his best furry friend Chewy the dog. Above all, he enjoyed helping people. His legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched and through his family. There are no calling hours. There will be a Funeral Mass held at a later date.
