Becky Marie Tate passed away February 28 at Halifax Health-Hospice with her sister at her
side. Her passing followed a prolonged illness she persevered through with strength, courage
and fervent hope. She was born in 1957 in Daytona Beach and was a lifelong resident of the
area graduating from Mainland High School, Daytona Beach Community College (now DSC)
and the University of Central Florida. The majority of her career as a Registered Nurse was
spent in various roles with Halifax Health Medical Center. She loved playing and following
tennis, was an avid birder and in retirement loved traveling our beautiful country with her sister,
ever in search of another bird species or a new experience. It brought her great joy to share
the magic of birding with a new birder. She is preceded in death by her parents Bill and Millie
Tate of Daytona Beach and her precious kitties. She is survived by her sister, Ellen of Daytona
Beach. Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in
Becky's memory to one of the following organizations: Halifax Health - Hospice at
halifaxhealth.org, Halifax Humane Society at halifaxhumanesociety.org, or The Marine Science
Center, specifically the Bird Hospital at marinesciencecenter.com

Hope it the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without words,
And never stops at all,
And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.
I've heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.
