Susan Bardwell Obituary

BARDWELL, SUSAN, Susan Claire Bardwell "Crickett",
63, of Melbourne, died Thursday, January 11, 2007. The fourth daughter of Bob and Betty Bardwell, Susie was born November 8, 1943 in Gainesville, FL and grew up in Mount Dora with her three sisters. She was graduated from Mount Dora High School in 1961. Crickett was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority at Florida Southern College in Lakeland where she was graduated in 1965. She attended the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill for graduate studies in creative writing. Her photographic talents enabled her to capture beautiful scenes outside of the United States and across the country, especially in San Francisco. Susie later lived in Connecticut and worked in New York City. She married in 1970 and was involved in fine paper sales in the publishing industry. While employed at Simon & Schuster she earned recognition as the top saleswoman in the country. Susie moved back to Florida in 1980 and lived in the family home in Tangerine. She married again in 1983. Closest to her heart were family and friends. She loved people and learning their stories, and she was especially kind-hearted toward children. Crickett moved to Melbourne in 1999. She loved the ocean and enjoyed fishing. She was adored by many people and will be for-
ever missed. Susie is survived by her sisters Margaret White of Chapel Hill, NC and Beckie Bardwell of Rockledge, FL. She is also survived by nephews and nieces in five states: R. Scott Alderman, E. Shaunn Alderman, Elizabeth Krusenstjerna, Kate White, Thomas White, Christie McClanahan and David Marshall. To celebrate Susie's life, family and friends will gather for a Memorial Service Saturday, February 17 from 3-6PM at the Mount Dora Yacht Club, 351 W. Fourth Avenue, Mount Dora, FL. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to various animal and marine life rescue leagues, animal shelters and pet adoption leagues.

Just learned of Susan's passing. Very sad! She was "of the heart" and had a compassion for people that was unequalled. Only person from college that wrote me while I was in Viet Nam. Spent time with Susan and her sister Becky immediately after my return. God, were they understanding. I am sure we will meet again. I pray for Susan to be in God's arms and for her family.

Dear Crickett,
I know you are reading this and looking down upon us all. Please pray that we too make heaven. I hope that all those men up there are treating you right. Now you have your pick! I remember how much fun we had at my apartment in Madrid
when Elda invited all her old boyfriends to her going away party. She picked one in the end and we got the rest (all 20 of them). You, me, Carol and Marianta! You are in my heart and will always put a smile on face.... Remembering.....You are another reason why I don't fear death. In the end we will all be together at the biggest and best enfermeria we could have.
Pray for us here.
Fondly,
Junerose

Good people like Crickett are rare.
I am glad to have known her, however briefly.
God Bless Her, and may she add goodness to Heaven as she did on Earth.
Tan Bueno que era.

I met Crickett at my first Amigos de Pamplona reunion in Miami where she and Marge took me under their wing. I loved her élan and looked up to she, Marge and Carole as the original blonde bombshells of the Pamplona group (what fun adventures they had!) My heart goes out to her sisters and close friends -- many will miss her.
