O'CALLAGHAN, Frederick James It is with deep sadness that the family of Frederick O'Callaghan announces his passing in Ottawa on Friday, March 5, 2004, at the age of 92. Beloved husband of the late Stella O'Callaghan (nee Flannigan). Proud and loving father of Valerie O'Callaghan- Grandfather of Ryan and Adam Sutcliffe; Pamela Shanley (Dennis)- Grandfather of Amy, Wade, Laura and Emily; Brian O'Callaghan (Penny)- Grandfather of Erin and Sean; Maureen O'Callaghan- Grandfather of Bradley and Sarah Colautti; Virginia O'Callaghan-Sabourin (Rick)- Grandfather of Shane and Liam. Dear brother of Marjorie Sayeau (Harry) of Toronto, Dorothy Kennedy (late Frank) of Peterborough and predeceased by brothers Charlie (late Bootie), John, Claude and Gerald (late Marguerite) O'Callaghan. All of his family and friends will especially miss the sparkle in his eyes and his warm smile. The family deeply appreciates the kindness shown and comforts provided to Fred by the nursing and care staff while at Garden Terrace Nursing Home in Kanata. Fred grew up in Kemptville, Ontario. He served in the RCAF during the Second World War and received the Distinguished Flying Cross for his great gallantry in the performance of his duty serving with No. 426 Squadron of the RCAF, and Operational Wings for completing over 30 flight missions. Family and friends may pay their respects at McEvoy Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road at Albion Road on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Resurrection of Our Lord Church, 1940 Saunderson Drive, Ottawa on Tuesday at 12 noon. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Kemptville, Ontario. In remembrance, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
