Jackie Lane Obituary
November 27, 1927 to February 28, 2017
Born in Toronto to Joe and Bunnie Larivey. Jackie was raised in the Beaches region of Toronto in the model of her father Joe, who was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman. Joe passed along a love of all things sporting that she carried through her life. She was an excellent athlete who excelled at any sport she decided to take on. The family recalls, with amusement, her slalom skiing at the family cottage in Nova Scotia when she was in her 70's. Jackie was an excellent cook, homemaker and organizer; as was exemplified by her involvement with the Ottawa chapter of the Canadian Ladies Golf Association, where she was a past President and volunteered on the ratings committee for many years. She was known for her leadership and strong spirit. She was predeceased by her husband Bob (2012), whom she was married to for 66 years. Together they raised five children; Stan (Jennifer), Steve (Cheryl), Dave (Cathy), Virginia Puttonen (Bob) and Rob (Heather). She is survived by her sister Joan Phillips (Bruce); sister-in-law Joan Knight (Jack); and grandchildren: From the Lane clan: Greg, Natalie, Jason, Rick, Brad, Garett, Marcie, Mark, Matthew, Christie, Michael, Dana and Marshall; and Puttonens Melanie and Robbie. And many great-grandchildren.
Rest in peace Mom. Thanks for raising us and much love.
