Roger Spurr Obituary
Roger A. Spurr, 93, of Beaverton, formally of Midland, MI passed away on May 24, 2021. Roger was born December 14, 1927 in Saginaw and grew up in Midland. He attended Midland Public Schools and graduated from Roosevelt Military Academy, Aledo, IL.
Roger served in the Korean War, attached to a U.S. Army intelligence unit. After discharge, he enrolled in and graduated from Ferris State. Roger worked at many businesses in Midland and Florida, and was the owner of Spurr's Appliance. Roger had a life long love of photography, and shared his talent with anyone who was interested. He had his own dark room where he developed film and printed hundreds of cherished family photos. He was an avid hiker and loved traveling.
Roger is survived by his wife Ruth of 35 years, children Kirk Babcock of TN, Jeri Overly, of Midland, Jim Boyer of Beaverton, Steven Spurr of Midland, Tammy Clayton of Gladwin, Joseph Spurr of FL, grandchildren Bridget Owens, Amanda Spurr-Zayas, Alina Michael, Jay Owens, Elliott Boyer, and Eli Clayton, great grandson Alex, half brother and sister Robert Groom and Anna May. Roger was preceded in death by his father and mother, John (Harry) and Beatrice May (Veale) Spurr, brother Brian Spurr, sisters Betty Hoffman and Arlene Thomas, and daughter Meri Jo Spurr.
Per Roger's wishes there will be no funeral. The family will celebrate Roger's life together this summer.

I have enjoyed all Rogers postings for many years. His March 2021 posting prompted me to share and discuss with him. Then I found out that he has passed. I had no idea He was in Michigan - not very far from where I have lived....His family was truly blessed and I'm thrilled that he was deeply into the mysteries of this world and of end times..... and his shareing with all that would and will listen. My hope now is that I will know him when my time comes. Just very sad I never reached out to let him know how much his discoveries meant.
