Antwone-Tremell Carpenter Obituary

Antwone-Tremell "Mel Mel" Carpenter

Richmond, Indiana - Antwone-Tremell "Mel Mel" Carpenter, was blessed to enter this world on Sunday, December 12, 1999; the child of Treston Odell Bennett and Milleta Nicole Carpenter. Tremell departed his earthly life at an early age. The Lord permitted Tremell to transition on Tuesday, May 29, 2018.

Tremell was reared with Love and Faith in God by his Grandmother; Elenetha C. Bennett, who instilled in him the importance of Faith, Family and Friends until her passing on Friday, November 25, 2011.

Tremell was an energetic young man, who enjoyed spreading Laughter and Love to others. He had a personality that was contagious, a caring and genuine spirit, and always willing to help or assist anyone. Tremell had a passion for fashion, which was an extension of his personality. He was always dressed to impress, and wasn't bashful about proclaiming who he was. In his presence from head to toes, he always made a fashion statement, "That Melly Mel is in da House!"

He was a popular 2018 senior and standout athlete at Richmond Senior High School. He was a member of the Football and Basketball teams throughout his high school experience. He also served on the RHS Radio & TV production. His distinguished persona led him to be voted 2017 Homecoming King. Tremell was ecstatic about graduating and walking across the stage with his three angels (Grandmas Bennett, Carpenter & Uncle Perry), to receive his High School Diploma. He was pursuing a career in the US Air Force. He was loved by all who was in his company. His smile just lit up every room when he entered.

Tremell was once employed at Journeys Shoe Store. He confessed Christ Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior and was a member of the Holy Temple Church of God Sanctified, where he was baptized in 2017 under the leadership of his uncle; Bishop G. Wesley Bennett.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Odell & Elenetha C, Bennett and Terri Jo Carpenter; a brother; Breydon Carpenter, and a special uncle who he cared for until his passing, Perry P. Hunter.

Left to cherish his unforgettable memory: parents Treston Odell (Jackie) Bennett and Milleta Nicole Carpenter; siblings, Treston Michael Bennett, Terius, Tyrey Carpenter and his only sister Breyia Shields; special cousins who he was raised with: Tashi Oliver and Jamarr Hill. Colossal number of Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins, special cousins: Charles Boyce Jr., Trestiayna Martin, James Hobbs, Alonzo Smith and Trevyin Bennett, special friends: Jordan, Dejuan Farris, Key Anthony Bishop, Thajea Deloney, Eddie May, and Demarquis Tapp. Mentors: Micah Orr, Mr. Kevin Handley, Mrs. Emily Sherrow and Principal Stephanie Baker.

The Celebration of Life honoring our beloved Antwone-Tremell M. Carpenter will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Oak Park Church of God, 1920 Chester Blvd, Richmond, Indiana, with his uncle, Bishop G. Wesley Bennett, as Eulogist. Entombment: Earlham Cemetery Mausoleum. Public visitation will be 9:00am - 1:00pm, Saturday, June 9, 2018 at the Church. Arrangements entrusted to Community Family Funeral Home, 101 West Main Street, Richmond, Indiana 47374. Condolences may be sent to the family via the guest book at www.communityfamilyfh.com
