Rolf Kahn Obituary
ROLF KAHN 1932-2003 70, president of Money Management for Seniors, Inc., of North Palm Beach, FL, Certified Financial Planner, Chemical Engineer and Lieutenant Commander, USNR Retired, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003 in Tts New England Medical Center, Boston, MA. Born in Berlin, Germany on August 4, 1932, he was the son of the late Ernst and Friedel (Westphal) Kahn. He immigrated to the United States with his parents on the ship Deutschland, celebrating his sixth birthday during the voyage. He graduated from Cornell University in 1955 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He began his career with American Cyanamid in Stamford, CT. Soon after, he entered Naval Officer Training School in Newport, RI. Upon Commissioning, he studied meteorology at the Navy Post Graduate School in Monterey, CA and was assigned to Pacific Fleet Weather Central, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. In 1956 he married his wife of forty-six years the former Barbara June White of Ludlow, MA. Upon completion of active duty, Rolf served in the Naval Reserves attaining the rank of Lieutenant Commander, retiring in 1975. Continuing his career in 1959, he undertook foreign plant manager training for Colgate Palmolive. He received his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford, NJ. Rolf worked in Toronto, Canada and New York City and was associated in his career with MCA Records/ Universal, Perdue Frederick, and Kolmar Industries in Milwaukee, WI and Port Jervis, NY. He began his own business forming Kahn Industries, a contract manacturer of cosmetics. Rolf received his certification as a Certified Financial Planner and was employed by IDS/American Express. Soon after, he began Money Management for Seniors, in North Palm Beach, FL. Rolf is survived by his wife Barbara J. (White) Kahn; three daughters, Deborah Ann Ehrenberg and husband, Randy of Neosho, WI; Judith Ann Faust and husband, Timothy of Mount Hope, NY; Allyson Ruth Carter and husband, Jim of Aurora, IL; a sister, Ruth Carlson and husband, Lyle of Scottsdale, AZ and four grandchildren, Tyler and Chelsey Faust and Daniel and Mariah Ehrenberg. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at the First Presbyterian Church, Prosperity Farms Road, North Palm Beach t 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Southeast Cancer Research Foundation of Florida, Inc., P.O.
