Marcia Neville Obituary

NEVILLE, Marcia

Marcia Pierce Neville, a loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully in her sleep at 71 years of age. She was longtime resident of Paso Robles, CA.

Marcia was a vibrant woman whose fun-loving attitude endeared her to people in virtually every place she visited. Her sense of joy was contagious.
Marcia was born in Glendale, California in 1945 and grew up in nearby San Marino. She met her husband of 49 years, Maurice F. Neville on the University of the Seven Seas, a college program on a student ship. Together they ran an antiquarian bookstore in Santa Barbara for almost 20 years. Marcia was involved with various charities and was active member of the board of The Crane School in Montecito for many years. The couple retired to Paso Robles in 1998.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children Morgan Neville, a documentary filmmaker, and Megan Goodwin, a scientist, and five grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The American Heart Association or The Surfrider Foundation. My mom Consuelo worked for Marcia and her family when I was a kid. Marcia was a beautiful lady. My sister used to say the lady that looked like wonder woman

I just watched the documentary on Mr Rogers and noticed it was dedicated to Marcia Pierce Neville. I thought: Can that be the same Marcia Pierce I knew on the Seven Seas trip, who married Maurie? Turns out it was/is. I am so very sorry to hear of her passing. She was a loving, kind, upbeat person who always had a huge, beautiful smile for everyone. My belated condolences to the family. RIP Marcia.

Dear Maurice, Morgan and Megan,
Only just now (August 4,2017) Beth and I learned of Marcia's passing. The last time we saw her was at Wes' funeral in Monterey on the 16th of June, 2016. Her energetic and upbeat personality was always the talk at dinner when Wes returned from Vons as he always enjoyed her visits at the store. In 2013 Beth and I met Marcia for the first time when she visited Wes at Twin Cities after he had a colon resection.
We are deeply sorry for her sudden passing and if Wes was still here he would be crushed. You are a wonderful family that has been blessed by her presence.

We have been Marcia and Maurie's neighbors on 10th and Vine St for many years. Marcia was always gracious, kind, friendly and warm. Absolutely the nicest neighbor you would ever want to have. We usually had "catchups" in the street as we were coming and going. We heard of the kids' adventures, the birth of the grandkids (her face would light up in a special way when talking of them) and whatever topic held our fancy for the day. Our deepest heartfelt condolences to the entire family. Her love, kindness and presence will be missed. The Garman Family
