Charles Crow Obituary

CHARLES CROW "CHARLIE" Born April 4, 1925 in Lufkin, TX. Passed away on May 1, 2013 in St George, UT. He married his wife Peggy (Henderson) on October 2, 1943. They had almost seventy years together. He came to Hemet in 1934 with his family after his father John, a Trinity County, Texas constable was killed in a shoot out in Apple Springs. Charlie had to work hard as did all the people in Hemet during the depression in the apricots and walnuts but managed to play football and baseball and later excelled with the Hemet Nighthawks softball team. They won the So. Cal. championship along the way. He got a job at Hemet Valley Feed and Seed at Harvard and Latham Streets, during high school and never looked back. He stayed in that business for almost sixty years, managing Albers Feed, and working with Dan's Feed in Perris. He was active in valley sports early in life and helped construct the ball field at Gilbert and Acacia Sts. He was a charter member of the non recognized Hemet Liars Club having coffee and conversation most every morning with anyone who would listen. He leaves behind his wife Peggy; daughter Charlesa of Yuba City, CA and son Mark (Joy) of Hurricane, UT; three grandsons, Jason (Erika), Garth (Kathleen), and Tim; one great-granddaughter, Daryn; one brother and two sisters. Services will be private at a future date.
