William Soza-Warsoldier Obituary

WILLIAM PAUL SOZA-WARSOLDIER Age 65, passed away on January 18, 2014. He was born on January 3, 1949 in Santa Ana, CA and was a resident of Riverside, CA. He was considered a cultural icon in the fight for Native American inmates to retain their long hair due to their cultural and religious beliefs. William is survived by his common law wife Lorene Sisquoc of Riverside, CA; daughters Mesquite Gonzalez of Washington, Hilda Soza-Warsholdier and Dr. Rose Soza War Soldier, both of Arizona; and Christian Trujillo of New Mexico; mother Inez Soza; brother David Soza; sister Suzanne Verdugo. Also survived by many grandchildren, a host of nieces, a nephew and many friends. Predeceased by his father William Paul Soza, Sr. and sister Zandra Soza-McKeag. Traditional Indian Wake at Soboba Tribal Hall, Soboba Indian Reservation, 5:00pm, Friday, January 24, 2014 until 7:00am Saturday, January 25, 2014.
