Christopher Davis Obituary

Beloved son, brother and family member, Chris was taken from us in September.

Christopher attended Port Angeles and Port Townsend high schools, where he learned an appreciation for music. He graduated from Port Townsend High School and Peninsula College in 2001 with an associate degree.

Chris attended Western Washington University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in music. The University of Washington granted Chris a master's degree in piano performance.

Christopher was active in the music community and loved competition.

Besides many community concerts, Chris participated in the following: New York University Summer Piano Institute, Western Washington University Summmerstock, first piano in Oregon's Mu Phi Epslon Scholar Competition, Pacific Lutheran University Piano Performance Institute, Portland (Oregon) International Piano Festival and the International Russian Music Competition.

Christopher was employed by Kirkland Congregational United Church of Christ as director of music ministry and as a private music instructor.

We would like to give special recognition to Patricia Marcy and Marilyn McNamara for getting Chris started in piano during his early years.

Christopher is survived by his parents, Tedd and Peggy Davis of Shelton, Washington, and his brother, Darren of Port Angeles.

A celebration of Chris's life will be held Saturday, October 24, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Kirkland Congregational United Church of Christ, 106 Fifth Avenue, Kirkland.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial gift in Christopher's name may be made to Port Townsend High School Music Boosters, 1500 Van Ness Street, Port Townsend, WA 98368.

Rest in peace, Chris.

My heart hurts with profound pain and disbelief of the loss of Chris. I am happy our paths crossed and I was able to work with him; he was a truly talented pianist and I am grateful he shared his musical gifts with our church. May your family find comfort, strength, and hope as you grieve your loss - hopefully knowing that God holds you firmly in his tender embrace.

I just received a phone call from Pat Marcy, as she had just read about Chris in the paper. SO Sorry, what a wonderful person he was, the world has lost a very talented pianist, and great man; he excelled in music further than any student I ever taught. To be thanked, well it was my privilege to have taught him lessons! He had wonderful parents who guided him and encouraged him all along the way, and I grieve his passing, along with you! So sorry for you! God be close to you during this very sad time! My love and prayers, and I will never forget Chris!, Sincerely, Marilyn McNamara, and Jim and our family
