ROBERT MCKINLEY BLANKENSHIP
72

Robert "Ship" Blankenship was born April 24, 1936 in Pine Apple, Alabama. His family relocated to Pensacola during his youth and he attended the public schools of Escambia County graduating from Booker T. Washington High, Class of '56. Ship was an employee of Benboe Funeral Home and more recently at Reeds Funeral Home until his health failed. Mr. Blankenship was a member of Deep Water City Lodge #751.
Mr. Blankenship was preceded in death by his parents, a son, 2 sisters, and 2 brothers, leaving to cherish his memory; two daughters Janana Bell of Pensacola and Janet Harris of Cincinnati, OH; sisters, Lillie (Willie) Locklear, Kathleen Augustus, Gracie (Gerald) Richards Sr., Rosemary (Ernest) Bell all of Pensacola, Mary Coleman of Virginia Beach, VA; one brother, Lawrence (Valarie) Blankenship of Pensacola; 6 grandchildren, 3 aunts, a devoted niece, Brenda Baldwin, along with a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday August 23, 2008 at Antioch Baptist Church with Dr Nathaniel Smith officiating. Public Viewing will be on Friday from 12 noon to 7:00 p.m. at Reeds Funeral Home, burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery. Reeds Funeral Home directing.
