PHILIP D. "PHIL", suddenly on March 5, 2011 of Newtown Square, Pa. Formerly of Upper Darby. Survived by his beloved wife of 20 years Carolyn R. (nee DiSipio), his devoted children Jacqueline R., Andrew P. and Steven M. Barr, his cherished parents Joan (nee Robinson) and F. Donald Barr, his loving siblings Brian Barr (late Anne), Donna Barr, Karen Barr McKinney (late Jack), Laurie B. Mullen (Francis), Beth Anne DiFabio (James), Kellie Barr-Shearer (Damon), his loving In-Laws and also many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Thurs. Evening 6-9 P.M. and Fri. Morning 9-10 A.M. at D'ANJOLELL MEMORIAL HOME OF BROOMALL, 2811 West Chester Pike Broomall, PA 19008. Funeral Mass 11 A.M. St. Alice Church. Interment SS. Peter and Paul Cem. In lieu of flowers contri-butions in Phil's memory to, The Barr Children Educational Trust, P.O. Box 614 Broomall, PA 19008, would be appreciated.

I just heard this evening about Phil and am in shock. Being in Norfolk I haven't been into the store this year at all. I have great memories of Phil's (and the whole family's) kindness to us IHM's in St. Alice's. He will be greatly missed and I'm sure is with Our Lord in Heaven. Sister Bernadette

Eternal Rest Grant Unto The Soul of Phil O Lord, and Let The Perpetual Shine Upon Him! May He Rest In Peace! Phil was very dedicated to delivering religious goods to his customers. He did not mind going the extra mile for his fellow brothers-&sisters-in-Christ! May Our Mother of Sorrows & Our Mother of Mercy comfort all of you at this time of mourning!

I wish to thank all the people who have expressed sorrow to our familiy. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank those who participated in Philip's Mass of Christian Burial. It was a Mass meant to celebrate his life, and it did. All the people that knew his character, dedication, humor and love of family & friends, were able to come together, share "Philip" stories, but most of all, honor Philip with the traditions of our faith. We raised three beautiful, loving children. Jacqueline, Andrew, Steven and I have unbelievable support from our family & friends, the religious community, and countless others that just are willing to embrace us in our hour of need. This is what Jesus would do. Love to all, The Barr's

May God's grace and peace surround at this very sad time. Philip was truly a great wonderful man who certainly lived and passed on the Word of God in all his daily encounters. What a gentleman-- who was ready to reach out to so many people. He was great to so many of the Sisters. This IHM is one who was proud to know Phil and always grateful for his help. I was awed by the number of people who turned out last night for the viewing. A clear measure of the man I did not get to know very well. He will obviously be missed.
