IDA CUSANELLI Obituary

CUSANELLI

IDA M. (nee Casini), age 91 (or as she preferred 19) entered into eternal rest on Jan. 27, 2013. She resided with her daughter Carol (Bill) in Wallingford. Originally of West Philadelphia, Mom and Dad raised their family in Upper Darby. Mom was welcomed into everlasting life with her Savior by her loving husband Tommy and her cherished oldest daughter Louise Civera (Robert Sr.)
Aida (Ida) was the oldest child of Enrico and Assunta Casini who were Italian Immigrants. She left school during her first year of high school to help support her family when her father fell ill. She was also pre-deceased by her brother Mario (Nancy) and sister Helen. Her strong faith in God and family were nurtured by her parents and she brought those values with her as she and Tommy raised their own family.
She is missed dearly by her daughters, Susan Cusanelli (Dian), Carolyn McCullough (Bill) and Teresa Lochman (Wayne). The traditions steeped in love grew to surround her four daughters; grandchildren, Robert J. Civera, Jr (Mary Sue), Lisa Delaney (John), Gina DeLuca (Nick), Michelle Thompson (Wayne) and Kristina Lochman (Mike). Mom's closeness of family continues to live on in her great grandchildren, Tommy and Daniel Delaney and Maria and Sophia DeLuca. The loss of mom, mom-mom is felt by all so deeply and her life treasured by her family, her loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing Thurs. Evening 7-9 P.M. and Fri. Morning 8:30-9 A.M. at the D'ANJOLELL MEMORIAL HOME OF BROOMALL, 2811 West Chester Pike Broomall, PA 19008. Funeral Mass 10 A.M. St. Rose of Lima Church. Interment Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory to St. Lucy Day School for Children with Visual Impair-ments 4251 L St. Philadelphia, PA 19124 or EWTN 587 Old Leeds Road Irondale, AL 35210 would be much appreciated.

I shall always remember the many fine meals in Ida and Tom's home surrounded by family. Her expertise in not only cooking, but managing a crowd of cooks in the kitchen was impressive!

Dear Aunt Ida,

I have such wonderful, loving fond memories of you with my Grandparents as well as with Uncle Tommy. We were lucky enough to be able to share a lifetime of laughs and hugs. You will be missed forever and I hope you know what an impact you had on me and my family. The sweet way you would caress my face and hug me so tight is something I will always treasure.

Aunt Ida has been neighbors to my parents long before I was born so she was the only step to step neighbor I knew. She was kind and I can remember her cooking Italian foods and the smell coming through the window. I will always be grateful for her sending meals into my Dad after my Mom passed away. They (Aunt Ida and my Dad) relied on each other when it was just the two of them. She will be missed not only by her family but also by ours. Thinking of all of you and sending our deepest sympathy for your loss. At least now, though, she is reunited with Uncle Tom, Louise and all those loved ones who passed before her. I am sure my parents are also there to greet her.
Sending love to all of you during your time of sorrow.

Ida was a wonderful woman who will be missed by many. Her family has been a part of our family for almost 58 years but we take comfort in knowing that she's with her loved ones and at peace.
Rest in peace, Aunt Ida.
