Rose McAlpine Obituary
Zuni - Rose Callahan McAlpine, 52, of Zuni, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2014. She was the daughter of Roy Callahan and Louise Evans. Rose was a member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church. She retired from the United States Navy after 30 years of service. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family and taking care of her grandkids who meant the world to her.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Ted L. McAlpine; daughters, Cassandra Mitchell and husband, Gary, Melissa Dawn Hirst, Amanda Hope Mort and Ashley Nicole McAlpine; sons, Joseph McAlpine, Theodore L. McAlpine, and Gregory Allen McAlpine; grandchildren, Duncan and Rowan Mitchell; brother, Bobby Callahan, and sister, Patti O'Niel.
The family will receive friends tonight, Friday, February 21, at Tucker Swamp Baptist Church from 6 to 8 p.m. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 22, at the church cemetery. The family is being served by R.W. Baker & Son Funeral Home, Wakefield Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tucker Swamp Baptist Church Food Pantry, 37527 Seacock Chapel Road Zuni, VA 23898. Condolences may be posted at www.rwbakerfh.com.
