LINCOLN, IL - Robert D. Fleshman, 66, passed away at 4:42 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Robert was born Oct. 16, 1947, in Lincoln, the son of James Russell and Louise Amelia Fleshman. He was married to Phyllis Halsey and later divorced. He was united in marriage to Connie Hanslow on July 7, 1979, at Lincoln Christian Church. She survives him in Lincoln.
Other survivors include his children: Christine Rivero of Littleton, Colo., Stacy (Dan) Thielen of Canton, Mich., and Nicholas A. (Sara Rogers) Fleshman of Lincoln; grandchildren: Andrew (Allison) Hindt, Zach Thielen, Chase Thielen, Isabella Rivero and Mia the dog Fleshman; and one brother, Tom (Sally) Fleshman of Lincoln.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: James D., Russell, John, and Ritchie; and one sister, Alice Gonzalez.
Robert worked for Caterpillar Tractor Co. for 35 years and five years at Turris Coal Mine. He was a member of the UAW 974.
Services for Robert will be held at 7 p.m., Monday, April 14, 2014, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Monday prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to: Humane Society of Logan County or donor's choice.
